Jersey Parents meeting on 8th Sept 08

22nd Aug 2008 -  SR Squad Camp at Lilleshall NSC

Senior Compulsory, Senior Vol and group 5 travelled to Lilleshall National Sports Centre on the 4th Aug for the South Region Squad Camp. The squads stayed for 4 days hard training and a half day trip to Water World which in all added up to a successful week of hard work and fun.

The SR Camp video is on the south region WTC website under SRTV, AGA will also be added it's own video of the Camp to the AGA TV very soon.

25th July 2008 - Squad Trip to Thorpe Park

AGA takes it's squad members to Thorpe Park for the day on the 24th July. All gymnasts and coaches had a lovely day in the hot sun and rides. Pictures have been posted on the picture page.

30th June 2008 - National Training Camp in France

AGA is pleased to announce the great achievements of Liane Yerby and Coach Heather Adams as they pack up ready to leave to France on Saturday 5th July. Liane Yerby has been in this National Home County Squad (9-11yrs) for 2 years through her hard work and effort in training and producing the results at competitions. This how ever could not be done without the hard work of the coach as well, all members travelling to France have been selected by the Technical Director of Women's Gymnastics - Gymnasts in squad gain automatic entry but the coaches have to be selected and Heather was one of them! Well Done to you both have a great time in France from all of us at AGA!

25th June 2008 - AGA Club Display, BBQ & Disco

The club will be holding a short display of routines on Beam, Bars and Floor for all parents, brothers, sisters, grannies, ants and uncles to watch and give the Gymnasts a chance to show off what they can do!

Letters will be sent out soon detailing times and a date for this event. If we could have parents to help set up and clear up again that would be very helpful.

More information will follow soon!

22nd June 2008 - Bucks Floor and Vault

AGA would like to thank all parents for the help and support at the Bucks floor and Vault which was held at the Lynx Gymnastics Centre in Aylesbury, it was a fantastic day for AGA as all Gymnasts had a good competition performing their routines on Floor and Vault. The competition ran an hour and a half ahead of time which was great! AGA on top form with medals across the Levels in Bucks. to view scores please click on the link below.

22nd June 2008 - South Region OOA Championships

AGA travelled to Phoenix Gym Club to compete at the South Region Out Of Age Championships on the 15th June 2008, where AGA Gymnast Abbey Winterburn came in 1st overall Level 4 while Elisha Evans came 2nd Overall. In the Level 3 Gymnast Eleanor Thompson came overall 4th in the Region while Gemma Carder also performed well. To look at the individual scores please click the link below.

2nd June 2008 - Bucks In & OOA Championships

AGA Gold rush at the Bucks In & Out Of Age Championships on the 1st June 2008, AGA gymnasts in levels each level came out with overall medals and individual medals - see results page for more details on results. Overall AGA again showing that hard work pays off! This competition was also a qualifier for the South Region Out of Age Championships on the 15th June 2008, OOA gymnasts now have two weeks now to polish routines and work on any bad areas before their Southern Region Final. Keep working hard girls!

8th May 2008 - National Compulsory Final

AGA Gymnasts Abbey Craven, Hannah Roslyn, Bonnie Adams-Downie & Marguerite Pope performed their routines at the Cocks Moore Wood Centre in Birmingham. All gymnasts showing off their strengths to a huge audience performing well. Well Done to all for your great achievements! 

30th April 2008 - Club Grade National Final

AGA would like to say well done to Abbey Winterburn, Eleanor Thompson & Claire Webb for competing at the National Club Grade Final in Birmingham. The competition was good experience for all three gymnasts as it was the first time any of the three had been to a National Final. Keep working hard and we hope to get even more good results at the next lot of competitions!

18th April 2008 - Gareth Tyzack New WTC Chairman

17th April 2008 - Club Grade 6 & 5 Final

AGA gymnasts took part in the South Region Club Grade 6 & 5, Well done to all for their efforts and performing well!

10th March 2008 - AGA headlines in Bucks Herald for 2 Weeks Running

10th April 2008 - Well Done to Tumblers

Well done to Dale Cherry & Hope Roberts for competing in the British Tumbling Championships on 29th & 30th March 2008. Both gymnasts competed well.

25th March 2008 - AGA has a very Successful Easter Camp

AGA held it's Easter Camp over the Easter Weekend ( 21st - 24th March) with over 40 Gymnasts, the Campers were greeted on Friday at 2pm by the Coaches and had a good day of training. On Saturday the Campers went to Thorpe Park, despite the weather the Campers had a very good time, Thorpe Park gave AGA free tickets to return to the Park as the Weather was bad so Hopefully AGA will be going soon for a another day out!

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE COACHES FOR GIVING UP THEIR EASTER WEEKEND TO HELP ON THE CAMP!!

 

18th March 2008 - AGA Strikes Gold at Compulsory Grades

Aylesbury Gymnastics Academy come out on top again with outstanding results at this weekends Compulsory Grades which was held at Basingstoke Gymnastics Club.

Well Done to Katharine, India, Abbey, Hanna, Bonnie, Marguerite and Danielle for Passing their Grades!

10th March 2008 - Liane Yerby Passes Elite Grade

Liane Yerby and Coach Heather Adams travelled to Liverpool on Saturday the 8th March for the weekend of the Elite Grade. Liane performed well on most pieces placing her in 7th Place out of 29 Gymnasts from all over the Country. This is a BIG achievement for the club as well as the Gymnast & Coach! We look forward to Liane improving and growing within AGA and performing at the British Espoir Championships next year! Well Done To Both Heather Adams & Liane Yerby

7th March 2008 - Good Luck Gareth Tyzack

3rd March 2008 - South Region Grades 4321

AGA sends four gymnasts to the British Club Grade Finals on 26th & 27th April in Birmingham from the South Region Club Grade held at Kingston Gymnastics Centre on 2nd March 08, AGA again come out on top with outstanding results! 3rd March 2008 - Bucks County Grades 6 & 5

25th February 2008 - Regional Squad at Basingstoke

Abbey Craven, Bonnie Adams-Dowine, Marguerite Pope and Liane Yerby travelled to Basingstoke Gymnastics Club on Sunday 24th Feb for a Regional Squad session at the competition venue for the Grades in March, where all the gymnasts performed their routines and built confidence on different equipment.

25th February 2008 - Squad Training at Lilleshall NSC

The elite squad travelled up to Lilleshall National Sports Centre on Wednesday 20th Feb for a training session where they all performed their routines for Grades. The experience was great for all and many gymnasts came away with new skills and confidence.

Well done to all the Gymnasts and the coaches for giving up a day to do coaching!

2nd February 2008 - Lilleshall NSC Training

AGA Senior Elite Squad will be invited to training at Lilleshall National Sports Centre on Wednesday 20th February 2008. The bus will leave from the Lynx Gym Centre at 10:00am and we should be back around 5-6pm depending on traffic.

Each gymnast will need to bring a packed Lunch and £13.00 with them, £5.00 towards petrol and £8.00 for training.

Gymnasts must inform Gareth Tyzack ASAP, if they are available to attend the session. (a list will be put up in the gym)

28th January 2008 - Regional Squad Training

AGA gymnasts perform well at the first Regional Squad session which took place at the Lynx Gymnastics Centre on 27th January 2008.

Well Done girls keep up the good work!

27th January 2008 - Regent Gymnastics Club Invitational Competition

AGA receives invite to travel along to Jersey for an invitational competition on 4th October 2008.

The competition will take place in the Queens Hall, Fort Regent on Saturday 4th October 2008 followed by an evening function.

Regent have managed to obtain an excellent rate with one of the local hotels who can offer hotel accommodation and airport transfers. The accommodation would be on a bed & breakfast basis at £20.00 p/p per night.

18th January 2008 - International Gymnastics Camp USA

AGA receives an invite to a world class training centre in the USA, an international Gymnastics Theme Park!

We are planning to make arrangements to fund raise so that we may attend a once in a life time opportunity.
